The scientific community agrees that around 15 billion years ago the Universe (Spacetime) and then the galaxies were formed and, four and a half billion years ago, our cradle : the Earth.

To the first forms of unicellular life 3 billion and a half years ago, more elaborate life forms followed: fish, insects, birds, reptiles and finally the mammals of which we are part.

Four million years ago, the first hominids (Australopithecus) made their appearance and only about 200,000 years ago that the modern Man - homo sapiens - made his first steps. It seems so far to us in the human scale of Time and yet, in the billions of years of Earth's existence, it was Yesterday ... When did the Man first rise his eyes to the starry sky, fascinated by a moonlight inviting him to travel and the wildest dreams ?

A little more than half a century ago, in 1961, the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space. In 1969, American astronauts stepped on the ground of the "Moon", the eternal companion of our nights. Our neighbor, the red planet Mars, about 70 million km away, has always made people fantasize, and scientists or science fiction writers have described it many times as the twin of the Earth, inventing highly evolved ancestral Martian civilizations of which we would be the descendants, often in the guise of hostile invaders who would wish to degrade the human race or even annihilate it. To the credit of all these stories and all these more or less serious theories on this subject, has never appeared the shadow of any evidence of life on Mars, planet that we know very different from the Earth and in appearance totally unsuited to any form of life, even primary.

However, in 2018, hope is reborn : a team of Italian scientists demonstrate evidence to support the presence of liquid water on Mars, a sensational discovery that completely revives the debate on the possible existence of Martian life. If liquid water in large quantities on the "red planet" is proven, then we are all allowed to think that a life form - past, present or future - would then be possible on Mars and, therefore, why not to consider also on other planets situated on the borders of the Universe ?

From there to thinking that we are not alone in this unfinished Cosmos, there is only one step ... Therefore, we are perhaps at the dawn of an unprecedented scientific revolution, but also sociological , philosophical, metaphysical and religious ...

The more we advance in Time and in knowledge, the more we realize how much the real World delivered us only a tiny part of its most ingenious and creative secrets. The horizon of Man's dreams of omniscience, which seemed so accessible at the beginning of the 20th century, notably by the remarkable advances of physics thanks to the scientists Albert Einstein and Henri Poincarré, now seems to be moving away more and more. ... At the beginning of the 21st century, the essential scientific questions remain unanswered (or partially) and the Universe remains very mysterious.

We are living within the Fantastic Reality ...
